Immanuel Orthodox Presbyterian Church

In 1945, a beacon of faith emerged in Bellmawr, New Jersey. Immanuel Orthodox Presbyterian Church opened its doors, just a stone’s throw from the Walt Whitman Bridge. Immanuel Church isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to the enduring power of belief. The church is rooted in the doctrines of the Protestant Reformation. It embraces the Bible as the infallible Word of God. The core message at Immanuel Church is clear. Sinners find salvation through grace, faith, and Christ alone. This message is for the glory of God. Every Sunday, morning and evening, the congregation gathers. They worship their Savior and King, Jesus Christ. Immanuel Orthodox Presbyterian Church extends a warm invitation to all. Come and worship with them. The church has a rich history. It began in 1942. The congregation of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in West Collingswood voted to join the Presbytery of New Jersey. They joined as a particular congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. This decision followed a bold move six years earlier. In 1936, the congregation had left the Presbyterian Church (USA). This resulted in the loss of their property. They became an independent church. The Rev. William Strong led Immanuel OPC from 1936 to 1943. He then served as a Navy chaplain during World War II. After the war, he resigned in 1945. The Rev. Edward Kellogg took the helm in 1946. Under his leadership, Immanuel Church flourished. It became one of the largest congregations in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. By 1948, membership peaked at 408. Today, Immanuel Orthodox Presbyterian Church continues to thrive. It’s a diverse community. It welcomes new converts and seasoned believers, young families and children. It’s a place where everyone can find a spiritual home.
