Its stone foundation was painstakingly disassembled and reassembled. The wooden structure weighing approximately three tons was moved by crane and barge. It wasn’t taken apart. The relocation was a remarkable feat. It showcased the importance of this historic landmark. Now the Imazu Lighthouse stands in its new location. A park surrounds it.
