Hidden within Maia, the Igreja Gondim whispers tales of a forgotten parish. The Igreja Gondim served as the heart of the community. Later, it transitioned to an abbey. In 1896, the government decreed that Gondim and Barca parishes merge for administrative purposes. This marked a significant shift in the local dynamics.
