“Bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people.” This is the mission of Iglesia El buen camino. The church focuses on spreading its message to those who may not know it.
Iglesia El buen camino aims to connect people with the teachings of Jesus Christ. It strives to share its faith and values with a wider audience. The church seeks to make a positive impact by bringing spiritual guidance to individuals.
Thousands of people walk El Camino each year. They come from all walks of life and various religions. Believers and non-believers alike take part. Some seek answers to philosophical questions. Others battle internal struggles. Many walk in honor of someone. Still others seek a challenge for mind, body, and spirit.
One person walked El Camino to follow in the footsteps of St. James. As a disciple of Jesus, St. James is considered a best friend. Walking the same path is considered a blessing. The journey isn’t always about finding answers. Sometimes it is about allowing God to lead the way.
Generosity among pilgrims abounds on El Camino. People of Galicia show kindness. Birds, butterflies, wildflowers, horses, and cows accompany the journey. Even a donkey joins in. Morning fog, sunshine, and occasional showers create a unique experience. Shady trees offer respite.
The path leads up mountains and down rocky trails. It crosses open pastures and passes under bridges. It goes down dirt roads and along highways. The path winds through villages and towns. Cottages provide beds, meals, and cold showers. Teenagers sing or pray the rosary along the way. Spiritual messages appear on stones and signs. Blisters and knee pain are part of the experience.
God always leads but it is up to us to follow. Each morning brings excitement for the walk ahead. Each night ends with gratitude for what has been witnessed. This is the faith we must carry with us. Wake up each day and be led by Him. End it with gratitude.
Walking El Camino is a life-changing experience. There are ups and downs but God is always present. In difficult moments He is there. In moments of ease He is also there. We can hear Him in the sounds of nature. He is present in the quietest moments too. He never leaves us.
The kindness of every pilgrim reminds us to love one another. God lives in each of us. If we are still and quiet we can acknowledge His presence.
The peace you feel on El Camino is overwhelming. Love flows in abundance. You feel God and are reminded of His love. You reflect on everything He has done for you and the blessings He gives us daily. May our lives be filled with gratitude, simplicity, love, peace, and light.
