Consider this: a parish without a proper home. That was the reality for Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Consolación. Its story is one of faith and perseverance. It highlights the dedication to establishing a spiritual center for the community. We stand before the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Consolación. It is located on Calle Juan Esplandiú 2. This church has a unique history.

Originally, the parish was created in 1965. It was under the patronage of Santo Domingo del Val. However, in 1973, its dedication changed to Nuestra Señora del Hogar. The main issue was the lack of its own temple. This made its growth as a parish difficult.

Then, in 1990, a significant change occurred. The Archbishop offered the pastoral care of this parish to the Augustinian Recollects. This decision was influenced by the pastoral work of the Colegio Agustiniano. In 1991, the parish began its new journey. It was initially based in the chapel of the Colegio Agustiniano. It was now under the name of Nuestra Señora de la Consolación. Finally, on June 9, 1996, the new parish temple was inaugurated.

The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Consolación also has a large residence attached. It provides parish halls. These halls are practical spaces for spiritual guidance. It is worth noting that this parish has a history of commendable effort and hard work. The church is more than just a building. It is a testament to the community’s spirit. It is a place of worship. It is a center for spiritual growth.
