Isn’t it intriguing how a place can transform from housing high-class brothels to becoming a sanctuary of faith? That’s precisely the story of Iglesia Cristiana Su Presencia.

Right here in Cartagena stands Iglesia Cristiana Su Presencia. It is more than just a building. It is a testament to transformation and spiritual growth.

Originally founded in 1993 in Bogota, Colombia, by Andrés and Rocío Corson, the church started as a small gathering. It was initially known as Amistad Cristiana. The first worship service took place in a house.

By 2018, Iglesia Cristiana Su Presencia had grown significantly. It had a weekly attendance of 42000 people. This reflects its widespread appeal and impact.

The church’s history is intertwined with the Corson family’s missionary work. Andrés Corson’s parents, Guillermo and Joy Corson worked with aborigines in Australia. Later, they became pastors at Iglesia Cruzada Cristiana in Funza.

In 1992, Andrés Corson felt a calling to start a new church. His mother and future wife, Rocío, shared this conviction. This led to the birth of Amistad Cristiana, which later became Iglesia Cristiana El Lugar de Su Presencia.

The name itself is significant. It reflects Andrés Corson’s belief that God was giving him the same promise he gave Moses. This promise is found in Exodus 33:14: “My Presence will go with you and I will give you rest.”

From its humble beginnings in a house, Iglesia Cristiana Su Presencia expanded. It moved to a hall in the Sociedad Bíblica Colombiana building. In 1996, with financial support, the church moved to the La Castellana neighborhood.

Interestingly, this area was once known for its upscale brothels. The church later acquired these properties. This acquisition symbolized a transformation of the area.

Over the years, Iglesia Cristiana Su Presencia transitioned from a traditional church model to a cell-based model. This shift fostered rapid growth. Small groups connected people and built community.

The church also established various ministries. These include Su Presencia Kids and Su Presencia Producciones. The music groups Su Presencia and NxtWave are also part of the church. They have released numerous musical productions.

Today, Iglesia Cristiana Su Presencia has multiple campuses. These are located in different cities and even in the United States. The church also utilizes media effectively. It has a strong presence on YouTube. It has over 3.6 million subscribers.

Despite its success, Iglesia Cristiana Su Presencia has faced criticism. Residents of La Castellana have complained about issues. These include the invasion of public spaces and increased insecurity. The church has rejected these claims.

Iglesia Cristiana Su Presencia stands as a beacon of faith. It demonstrates how a community can transform and grow. It started from humble beginnings. Now, it impacts countless lives locally and globally.
