A divine revelation. That’s how it all began for Iglesia Bethel. On December 22 2011 Reverend John and Chidinma Aniemeke received a message. They were to start a new Assembly of God church in San Antonio.
Iglesia Bethel wasn’t born overnight. It started with a prayer group. Eight faithful members formed the foundation. They prayed for a year. Their dedication led to the church’s official registration in March 2012.
The first service wasn’t in a grand building. It was held in a Drury Inn & Suites. A temporary home for a burgeoning community. Then a move to a permanent location at 6812 Bandera Road. Four services every Sunday. The community grew.
Officially inaugurated on January 5 2013 by Rev Scott Ennis the church quickly became a vital part of San Antonio. It joined the AG South Texas District Council and the General Council of the Assemblies of God USA. Today Iglesia Bethel boasts over 600 members. Thirty-seven ministries serve the community.
The church’s story is one of growth. A testament to faith and perseverance. From humble beginnings to a vibrant community. Iglesia Bethel stands as a beacon of hope and spiritual guidance in San Antonio. Its vision is to raise a generation of believers. Believers who will touch heaven through prayer and the power of God’s word. Believers who will bring change to the earth. This is Iglesia Bethel a place of faith hope and love.
