Has anyone ever told you about the power of a shared meal? At Iglesia Bautista Hispana Emmanuel, it’s more than just food. It’s a symbol of community, faith, and outreach. Iglesia Bautista Hispana Emmanuel, located at 2110 Bruin Drive in Kenner, has been a beacon of hope and faith for the Hispanic community for over 40 years. It’s a place where people find peace, joy, and love, all centered around the teachings of Jesus Christ. Now, picture this: it’s June 2023. The air is thick with anticipation. The Serve Tour Crossover Nueva Orleans is in full swing. Representatives from the North American Mission Board, pastors, church leaders, and missionaries gather at Horeb Baptist Church. But the story of Iglesia Bautista Hispana Emmanuel is intertwined with this event. Pastor Nelson Pérez, a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Seminary, has led the church for 15 years. He believes in serving faithfully and sharing the Gospel, much like the Crossover event’s mission. During the Crossover, Horeb Baptist Church, led by Pastor David Rodríguez, embarks on a mission of their own. They evangelize, knock on doors, and serve 575 hamburgers from a food truck. Twenty people find salvation through this act of service. This echoes the spirit of Iglesia Bautista Hispana Emmanuel’s dedication to community outreach and sharing God’s word. Pastor Pérez sees his role as planting seeds, leaving the growth to God. He finds inspiration in 1 Corinthians 6, embodying the church’s dedication to spreading faith and serving their community. Iglesia Bautista Hispana Emmanuel isn’t just a building. It’s a living testament to the power of faith, community, and the unwavering dedication to sharing the Gospel. It’s a place where everyone is welcome to find peace, joy, and love within the Hispanic community.
