In January 1963, six acres were purchased. The land was near the intersection of FM 518 and 528. Hope Lutheran Church dedicated its first sanctuary in September 1964. Fellowship, classrooms, and activity spaces were added later. By the end of 1976, Hope Lutheran Church had 675 baptized members. The church continued to grow.
A new administrative wing was built in 1976. Hope Lutheran Church reached 750 members by its 25th anniversary. A new sanctuary was dedicated in 1994. The Center for Faith Development was completed in 2003. It provided much-needed classroom and fellowship space. The Family Life Center followed in 2012. It included a gymnasium, commercial kitchen, and new classrooms. New administrative offices were also included.
Hope Lutheran Church celebrated its 50th anniversary on November 3, 2012. Pastor Ralph Hobratschk retired on May 1, 2022 after 39 years. Hope Lutheran Church has been served by seven pastors. They are Larry Rynearson, Robert Hobus, and Dr. Peter Steinke. Ralph W. Hobratschk, Scott W. Kirchoff, Mark F. Lasch, and Jonathan E. Petering also served. Steve Sonnenberg and Alan Gunderman were Directors of Christian Education. The church has been blessed with vicars and youth ministers. Professional church workers have also contributed.
Hope Lutheran Church gave birth to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Nassau Bay. God has blessed Hope Lutheran Church richly. They pray for continued blessings.
