In the heart of Las Vegas, amidst the glitz and glamour, lies Hope Church Las Vegas. It’s a beacon of faith, a testament to the power of community, and a story of remarkable growth. Hope Church Las Vegas began not with a grand vision, but with a small gathering. In 2001, three pastors and their families, sent from First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Georgia, started meeting in a living room with just 18 people. This intimate group began praying for Las Vegas, engaging with the city, and soon, Hope Church Las Vegas was born on September 30, 2001. From its humble beginnings, Hope Church Las Vegas has blossomed into a vibrant community of 4,000 people, connected through small groups and a shared desire to live as followers of Jesus. Their mission is simple: to connect people to live the life of a Jesus follower. What began in a living room now impacts not just Las Vegas, but also the West and the world. Former Senior Pastor Vance Pitman envisioned planting 300 churches in the Mountain and Pacific time zones. This vision stemmed from recognizing the significant number of unchurched people in these areas. Pitman believed in engaging the city with the gospel, meeting the tangible needs of the community, and building relationships as a pathway to sharing faith. This philosophy has undoubtedly shaped the growth and impact of Hope Church Las Vegas. Even as Pitman stepped down from his role to lead the Send Network, he emphasized the church’s continued dedication to this mission. Hope Church Las Vegas remains a testament to the power of faith and community, continuing to grow and serve as a beacon of hope in the vibrant city of Las Vegas.
