Rooted in faith Center of Hope’s story unfolds. It began as First Church of God in 1892. Pastor Benjamin F Reid guided its growth for 25 years. In 1996 he retired. Dr Gregory L Dixon became senior pastor. He served for 16 years until his passing in 2012. His legacy lives on through his son Geremy. Geremy Dixon now leads Center of Hope. He carries on his father’s work. He’s passionate driven and humorous. He delivers sermons in a creative way. His congregation thrives in Inglewood. The church is known for its community involvement. It partners with organizations like Claris Health and Habitat for Humanity. Its motto is Closer to people closer to God. Center of Hope offers scholarships. It awards them to Inglewood students attending Azusa Pacific University. The church also holds annual community events. It provides a safe space for families. Since 2012 Geremy has implemented many changes. The church transitioned from choirs to a worship team. They use the Push Pay app for donations. Services are shorter and live-streamed. The church switched from pews to chairs. More laypeople now assist the ministerial staff. The most fulfilling aspect for Geremy is seeing people come to faith. He enjoys watching children’s faith develop. Center of Hope continues to grow. It’s a testament to the enduring legacy of faith. The church’s impact extends far beyond its walls.
