Before 1977 Catholics in Banyo gathered elsewhere. They longed for a dedicated space to call their own. Their dreams took concrete form when the Archdiocese of Brisbane decided to establish a new church.
On Pentecost Sunday May 29 1977 a new chapter began. The Most Reverend F R Rush DD Archbishop of Brisbane blessed and opened the Church of the Holy Trinity. C Ham and P McDougal were honorary architects. Box & Co served as the builder. A plaque commemorates this special day.
The Holy Trinity Catholic Church became more than just a building. It became a spiritual home for the local Catholic community. Here they celebrate Mass. They share in the sacraments. They find solace and strength in their shared faith.
