These Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles lived a life combining contemplation and apostolic work. Decades later, they answered Cardinal James Francis McIntyre’s call to expand Catholic education. In 1958, they helped establish Holy Innocents Parish School. The sisters shaped the school, providing administrative support and instilling the Carmelite charism. Students, staff, and parishioners still recite the Mother Luisita Beatification Prayer, connecting them to the school’s founding spirit. Holy Innocents Catholic Church offers several weekend Mass services, including a Saturday vigil and Sunday Masses in both Spanish and English. It has served the community for over a century.
