The legacy of faith whispers from these very stones. Welcome to Holy Hills Bible Church. Its story begins not in grand cathedrals but in a simple Ash Grove School. In the late 1890s local Christians found a meeting place there. Imagine Sunday school in a rural setting far from Denver’s downtown bustle. The school was just blocks from the church’s current location.
Holy Hills Bible Church stands as a testament to enduring faith. It’s a non-denominational Bible Church. Its members trust in Christ’s saving work. They see Jesus as the Chief Shepherd. The Holy Spirit guides them. Their combined strength creates a growing fellowship. The Bible is their final authority. They strive to teach scripture clearly. This strengthens and encourages their love for God and all creation.
The church’s journey has been marked by change. Robert B Parker reorganized the Sunday school in 1929. A building was dedicated at the present site in 1947. That year Ash Grove Union Church was incorporated. Archie H Yetter became its first pastor. In 1949 the first building a surplus barracks was dedicated. The church later became Holly Hills Community Church in 1961. It better reflected the growing housing community around it. In 1967 it adopted its present name Holy Hills Bible Church.
Several pastors shepherded the flock over the years. J L Garland succeeded Yetter. Ron Merryman followed Garland. Ken Marr served as pastor from 1985 to 1993. Hal Molloy served until 2000. Vern Peterman and Mike Doyle joined as elder-shepherds. Roger Henderson also became an elder-shepherd. Sadly Hal Molloy passed away in 2006. In 2018 Vern Peterman moved to California.
Today Holy Hills Bible Church thrives. It offers elective classes and a main service on Sundays. Its co-pastors are Michael Doyle and Roger Henderson. Their mission is to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. The church’s beliefs are rooted in a literal interpretation of the Bible. They emphasize the importance of faith in Christ’s sacrifice. They believe in salvation through faith and the eternal security of believers. This church embodies unwavering faith a vibrant community of believers. It’s a story of perseverance and a testament to the power of faith. It continues to grow in Denver Colorado.
