This striking bronze sculpture, perched atop a tall granite pillar, depicts a hawk locked in a struggle with a pigeon. The Hu00f6ken och duvan Sculpture was created by Torsten Fridh and installed in front of the Daneliuska huset at Stureplan in 1990. Fridh was inspired by a newspaper snippet he’d read about a hawk attacking a pigeon. The pigeon, however, fought back with such ferocity that the hawk eventually gave up and fled. This struggle, frozen in time, is made even more dramatic by the four cascading waterfalls that shoot up from the granite basin below. The Hu00f6ken och duvan Sculpture is a testament to the underdog, a reminder that even the smallest creature can display incredible courage when faced with a challenge.
