Doesn’t this glass building look like stacked boxes? That’s HIRAKATA T-SITE. It stands just south of Hirakata City Station.

HIRAKATA T-SITE is more than a shopping complex. It’s a lifestyle department store that adds color to your daily life. Opened in 2016, it is located halfway between Osaka and Kyoto. The eight-story building includes one basement floor.

At the heart of HIRAKATA T-SITE is the Tsutaya Bookstore. Tsutaya is now a well-known bookstore and DVD rental chain. The first store actually opened in Hirakata in 1983.

Inside HIRAKATA T-SITE you will find much more than only books. There are also stores selling knick-knacks, apparel, and cosmetics. You can find also cafes and restaurants here.

Don’t miss the photogenic spot on the fourth floor of the Tsutaya Bookstore. It is an event space that features a bookshelf set up. This atrium extends up to the fifth floor. The walls are lined with books. The view from the 7-meter-high bookshelf is breathtaking.

Even before the word photogenic became popular, HIRAKATA T-SITE created this comfortable space. If you love books, you should visit it at least once.

There is a special area for kids on the fifth floor. The floor is covered with artificial grass. Parents and children can relax and read books here. A cave-like space lets children enjoy choosing books with their parents.

Are you hungry? Head to the cafes and restaurants on the first, second, and eighth floors. The four restaurants on the eighth floor each have a terrace. Enjoy dining with a panoramic view of the city. It’s the best spot for night views in Hirakata.

HIRAKATA T-SITE is easily accessible. It’s just a one-minute walk from the station.

HIRAKATA T-SITE is designed to be a living room for the urban community. It aims to revitalize the surrounding area. The building features terraces that offer a renewed cityscape.

The building replaced a structure built 40 years ago. HIRAKATA T-SITE demonstrates the potential for urban revitalization. It facilitates communication. Visitors encounter various products and services. They experience the vibrant atmosphere of an urban community.
