In 2007, a seed was planted. Heritage School, Cambridge, opened its doors to a mere sixteen pupils aged 4 to 7. The school’s founders, Jason and Fiona Fletcher, envisioned a unique educational experience, inspired by the Victorian educationalist Charlotte Mason. Heritage School began its journey in rented premises at 19 Brookside, sharing space with Sancton Wood School. The Fletchers started with a small team of six staff members. Heritage School, Cambridge, quickly blossomed. By 2010, the growing student body demanded more space, leading to expansion into 18 Brookside. The growth continued, and in 2011, Heritage School, Cambridge, launched its Senior School. This expansion culminated in the school securing an independent lease for the entire building at 17-19 Brookside. The school underwent significant renovations, updating the interior, playground, and carpark. Today, Heritage School, Cambridge, thrives with approximately 180 students, maintaining small class sizes of around sixteen pupils in Junior school and eighteen in Senior school. The school’s Christian ethos is central to its philosophy. Values are explored in assemblies, and some days begin with short Scripture readings. However, Heritage School, Cambridge, welcomes pupils of all backgrounds and has a diverse student population, including many American expatriates. In 2022, eighteen pupils from Heritage School, Cambridge, sat for IGCSEs and GCSEs. An impressive 47% of all results achieved the top grade of 9. Even more remarkably, one student achieved twelve grade 9s. Heritage School’s unique approach saw 70% of all grades exceeding predicted scores based on standardized tests.
