But the spirit of the Heilig-Geist-Kirche refused to be silenced. The congregation found a new home on Sattigplatz. The city of Goerlitz gave them land. It was a gesture of support a recognition of the church’s important role in the community.

The current Heilig-Geist-Kirche is a beautiful blend of styles. Its exterior boasts a neo-Romanesque architectural style. This speaks to the sturdy and enduring nature of faith. Inside however is a treasure trove of Baroque elements. These items were salvaged from the old church. The magnificent chancel altar the baptismal font the organ even the bell from 1772.
