Picture the Haus Waldesblick. A charming building nestled in Zehlendorf. This isn’t just any building. It’s a story etched in time. A history of hospitality spanning generations.

In 1971 Katharina and Manfred Wendling welcomed their first guests. Their home in the village center became a haven for travelers. Three years later a new chapter unfolded. The Wendlings built a new Haus Waldesblick. They furnished three guest rooms each with its own shower and toilet. This marked a significant upgrade in comfort for their guests.

Over the years the Haus Waldesblick continued to evolve. In 1996 the granary and machine shed were transformed. Four holiday flats were created. This expanded their capacity and appeal. In 2002 Heribert Wendling took over the family business. He renamed it Waldesblick Ferienhof & Gasthaus. This rebranding reflected an ambitious expansion. A new reception area with a guest room and bar was added. The kitchen underwent a complete renovation. The entire basement was redesigned to accommodate improved toilet facilities.

Further development followed. The year 2004 saw the addition of a glass-roofed entrance. This also involved building private rooms for two generations of the family. In 2007 the Haus Waldesblick earned its first three-star European hotel classification. A significant achievement in the hospitality sector. The name changed again to Hotel & Ferienwohnungen.

The following years saw further improvements. A larger terrace was built in 2012. In 2014 a guest room was transformed into a restaurant. This upgrade was meant to cater to the changing needs of their clientele. In 2016 the Haus Waldesblick received a three-star superior rating. It was renamed Hotel & Restaurant Waldesblick.

Then came the most significant transformation. In 2017 extensive renovations and an expansion of the main building began. This marked a major investment in the future of the Haus Waldesblick. By May 2018 the renovations were completed. All rooms were larger and boasted modern bathrooms. The new restaurant could accommodate up to 100 people. The upgrade also added a light-flooded relaxation room to the sauna.

The Haus Waldesblick’s journey continued. In November 2019 it received a prestigious four-star rating. A testament to its dedication to quality and excellence. This landmark hotel is a remarkable story of expansion and transformation. It’s a story of a family’s dedication and a legacy of hospitality. A true jewel of Zehlendorf. A place where memories are made.
