The Hasan Fehmi Ataç Apartmanı stands at the crossroads of Anafartalar and Denizciler Streets in the Ulus district. It embodies the First National Architectural Movement, also known as Turkish Neo-architectural style. Although the exact details of its construction are debated, sources suggest it was built between 1922 and 1925. It was commissioned by the then Minister of Finance, Hasan Fehmi Ataç, and designed by architect Hasan Hadi. Initially used by the government’s accounting department, the building later transformed into a hotel. By the late 20th century, it had become a commercial center known as Çamlı İşhanı. Today, this historical gem, still standing strong, houses various shops and a bank under the name Gülhane İşhanı. Take a moment to admire its unique features.
