In the heart of Detroit, Harvest Christian Church stands as a testament to faith and community. Harvest Christian Church isn’t just a building. It’s a living, breathing entity woven into the fabric of Detroit. It started as a small group in Canton in 2003. This small group consisted of thirteen adults and a few children. They worshipped in a home basement. Over time, the church moved to different temporary locations in Canton and Westland. Then, in 2011, Harvest Christian Church found a permanent home. The former Patchin Elementary School in Westland became their sanctuary. Harvest Christian Church is dedicated to expository teaching and gospel proclamation. They strive to honor God by fulfilling the Great Commission. They also aim to live by the Great Commandment. Their vision is to create a diverse and vibrant community of believers. These believers should worship, walk with, work for, and witness for Christ. Harvest Christian Church values the Bible as God’s word. They showcase expository preaching, letting the Bible’s message speak through their pastors. They maintain a high view of God, recognizing Him as the Sovereign Lord. They proclaim a biblical gospel, emphasizing heaven, hell, sin, judgment, repentance, and faith. Reliance on prayer is a cornerstone of their practice, acknowledging their dependence on God. They encourage committed participation from every member. They seek authentic and sacrificial leaders. Finally, they emphasize spreading the gospel through evangelism and worldwide missions.
