Perched along the bustling streets, it was a beacon of faith, a cornerstone of a community. Its modest structure held stories of devotion and resilience. The very first assembly in this place, you learn, was held on July 1st, 1951. Over 100 people came together to praise and worship, contributing a total of $192.32. It wasn’t just a church – it was the heart of Highland Hills, as it was initially called. With the passage of time, the church grew. Additional classrooms and a baptismal pool were added. Every construction project, every expansion solidified the bond between this congregation and its divine purpose. In 1986, the Harlandale Church of Christ formally merged with the Southeast Church of Christ. The congregation continued to meet at this location until 2005, when it moved to a new facility. The Harlandale Church of Christ stands as a silent testament to the power of faith, a reminder of the enduring spirit of a community built on shared beliefs. Today, the Harlandale Church of Christ might be gone, but its legacy continues to resonate through the lives of those who once worshipped within its walls.
