This magnificent building dates back to 1888. Imagine a bustling marketplace transformed into a cultural hub. The Mercado Ferreira Borges, recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Architectural Heritage Site, was originally intended as a public market. It stood empty for over a century. Then, Hard Club arrived. This revitalization project earned the National Prize for Creative Industries in 2009. The Ministry of Culture also declared it a site of Cultural Interest. Hard Club isn’t just about preserving the past. It’s about creating the future of art and music in Porto. Inside its walls, you’ll discover a diverse range of spaces. Room 1 pulses with energy, hosting large-scale events and live performances for up to 1000 people. Room 2 offers a more intimate setting for 350, perfect for a variety of gatherings. The Main Floor, bathed in natural light, welcomes exhibitions and free activities. And upstairs, a traditional Portuguese brewery-style restaurant awaits. In its first three years, Hard Club hosted a staggering 1300 events. It showcased 3000 artists, representing 40 nationalities. From 500 electrifying concerts to 350 pulsating electronic music nights, 200 captivating cinema sessions, and 400 free events. Hard Club has become a cultural powerhouse. It has truly become the heart of Porto’s artistic scene.
