What began as a simple forest administration role evolved into an extraordinary life of service. Hans-Werner Lampe, a name you see before you, was more than just a forester. He was a bridge between the forest and the people.

Hans-Werner Lampe was born in 1911. He started his career in forestry in 1929. His early career involved him in the Prussian Forest Administration. Later, his life took him through war and captivity before he found his calling in Misburg.

After the war, Hans-Werner Lampe became a forest ranger in Misburg in 1948. The area had been heavily damaged by bombing. Lampe dedicated himself to revitalizing the forest.

Hans-Werner Lampe connected with the people. He was known for his exemplary contact with the population. He educated locals about the importance of the forest through lectures and publications. He especially focused on engaging the youth of Misburg.

Beyond Misburg, Hans-Werner Lampe became widely known for his commitment to hunting organizations. He volunteered his time. He was the state chairman and federal shooting warden of the German Hunting Protection Association. Lampe organized shooting competitions. Some competitions had up to 900 participants.

Hans-Werner Lampe built international connections. His efforts led to the adoption of German Hunting Protection Association rules in other countries. These included the USA, Austria, and even New Zealand.

As an expert, Hans-Werner Lampe chaired the examination board for the Lower Saxony Chamber of Industry and Commerce. He assessed expertise in weapon trading. Later, he became a consultant for hunting matters in court cases.

In 1971, Hans-Werner Lampe received the highest award from the German Hunting Protection Association. It was a golden badge of honor. In 1972, he led the shooting sport competitions at the Munich Olympic Summer Games.

Hans-Werner Lampe also contributed to the Naturfreundehaus am Blauen See. He earned the Federal Cross of Merit in 1974 for his services to Misburg citizens and his work at state and federal levels.

Though he retired in 1976, Hans-Werner Lampe continued to engage in hunting. He passed away in 1983 in Hannover.

Now, this memorial stone serves as a reminder of Hans-Werner Lampe. It honors his contributions to forestry, hunting, and the community. In 1998, the Hans-Werner-Lampe-Weg was created in Misburg-Nord. His legacy lives on.
