Hallmark University’s story began in 1969 as Hallmark Aero-Tech, a small aviation school at Stinson Field. Founder Richard Fessler, a licensed A&P mechanic and commercial pilot, envisioned a school that would train the next generation of aviation technicians.
The school expanded rapidly, adding a second campus in the north-central area of San Antonio. The curriculum grew to include not only aviation, but also fields like business and electronic engineering. Hallmark University became the first private career school in Texas to offer associate degrees.

The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in a range of disciplines, including aeronautics, business, nursing, information technology, and cybersecurity.
