The Gwacheon National Science Museum is one of the largest and most well-equipped science museums globally.
Opened in November 2008, the Gwacheon National Science Museum seeks to spark interest in science. It also aims to foster creativity, particularly in children. The museum receives full financial support from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.
Inside the Gwacheon National Science Museum’s main building, you will find several permanent exhibition halls. These include the Basic Science Hall, Advanced Science and Technology Hall, and the Children’s Hall. Also inside are the Natural History Hall and the Korean Traditional Science Hall. Within the Korean Traditional Science Hall, discover the Saryogwan. It is a traditional Korean library. It holds collections of Korean literature. You can find maps and archaeological artifacts. Among these is the Cheonsang Yeolcha Bunyajido. This is an astronomical chart. It copied constellations onto paper in 1687. The Hall of Fame honors Korean scientists. It shows their contributions to science’s development.
