Whispers of history echo around Gut Altwahlscheid. This magnificent estate near the Rhine in Neuss-Uedesheim, Germany, has a story waiting to be unveiled. Gut Altwahlscheid’s origins trace back to a medieval lowland castle. Its transformation in 2018 breathed new life into this historic place. The Förderkreis Dressur Neuss envisioned a modern equestrian facility. They partnered with Brünninghoff GmbH & Co. KG to bring this vision to life.
The renovation of Gut Altwahlscheid was extensive. Forty Nando front walls with ventilation slots were installed. Forty-one Laselle pull-out partitions were added. There are also forty Ulina hay racks, forty paddocks made of GV partitions, saddle racks, and various horse showers. Even a Growi obstacle course was included. The project marked a new era for Gut Altwahlscheid. It became a hub for riding enthusiasts.
Gut Altwahlscheid is more than just a riding facility. It is a place of history and charm. The estate offers an idyllic setting for riders and horses. The riding trails extend far into the nature reserve along the Rhine. These trails offer opportunities for both leisure and competitive riders. The Arends family has managed the farm for generations. They provide loving care for the boarding horses. Their dedication ensures the well-being of these animals. Designated riding trails within the nature reserve provide a perfect backdrop for relaxed rides and training.
After a day of riding, the Reiterstübchen offers a cozy spot to relax. Riders gather here for a cup of coffee. They share stories and experiences, a tradition cherished at Gut Altwahlscheid. The transformation of Gut Altwahlscheid into a modern equestrian facility was a resounding success. Thanks to the collaboration between Förderkreis Dressur Neuss, Brünninghoff GmbH & Co. KG, and the Arends family, Gut Altwahlscheid remains a vibrant place for riders and horses.
