Built in 2001, Gurudwara Nanak Darbar stands as a beacon of faith and community. Its towering Nishan Sahib, a majestic 172 feet high, is one of only twelve in the world. This makes Gurudwara Nanak Darbar a truly unique landmark in Montreal. Gurudwara Nanak Darbar isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a vibrant hub, welcoming around 15,000 visitors in the past six years. Students from universities, colleges, high schools, and elementary schools have all walked through its doors. Professors from across Quebec have also come to experience its unique atmosphere. Inside Gurudwara Nanak Darbar, you can find a rich tapestry of activities. From Punjabi and Kirtan classes that resonate with traditional melodies, to the sharing of Langar. This communal meal exemplifies the Sikh principles of equality and selfless service. The spirit of community extends beyond the walls of Gurudwara Nanak Darbar. In 2009, Langar Sewa and a Sikh exhibition took place at College St. Foy in Quebec City. Students from the Khalsa School participated, showcasing Kirtan Diwan with instruments like the Rebab, Saranda, Taus, and Sarangi. Gurudwara Nanak Darbar is more than just a building.
