This opened its doors to a wider world and solidified its place on the global stage. By 2006, GLMU had expanded further, gaining authorization to offer graduate programs. This expansion cemented its reputation as a comprehensive medical institution. The Ministry of Education of China recognized GLMU’s dedication to education, naming it an “Excellent University” in 2012. Guilin Medical University boasts three campuses: Lequn, Dongcheng, and Lingui. Lequn, the oldest, is nestled in downtown Guilin, conveniently located across from the Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical University. This provides students with invaluable hands-on training. Dongcheng, the main campus, sits on the east bank of the Li River. It houses key departments like International Education and Foreign Languages, welcoming students from around the globe. Lingui, the largest campus, offers a serene environment. With a lake, trees, and flowers, it fosters a peaceful setting for learning and exploration. GLMU is more than just classrooms and hospitals. It is a hub of research and innovation, conducting hundreds of projects at national, provincial, and ministerial levels. The university has earned numerous awards and patents. Its research papers have appeared in prestigious journals, showcasing its commitment to advancing medical knowledge. Guilin Medical University embraces a multi-disciplinary approach, integrating clinical medicine with pharmacy, biotechnology, medical assay, and nursing. It actively participates in international exchanges, fostering collaboration and shared learning. Today, GLMU continues to nurture the next generation of medical professionals. Its motto, “Importance of a moral education foundation and the essence of modern education in medical colleges,” speaks volumes about its commitment to ethical practice and comprehensive training.
