Established in 1881 the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies GSEIS has a rich history. It began as the California State Normal School in Los Angeles. Its primary focus was teacher training. The school’s name changed many times. In 1994 it became the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. In 2020 it was renamed again. Today it’s the UCLA School of Education and Information Studies.
