What if the very walls of Grund- und Mittelschule Feucht could talk? Imagine the stories they would tell. This school stands as a cornerstone of education in Feucht. It shapes the lives of countless students. Grund- und Mittelschule Feucht is more than just a building. It is a place of learning, growth, and community.
The Mittelschule builds upon the foundation of four years of Grundschule. It covers grades 5 to 9. State school boards can establish Mittlere-Reife-Klassen. These classes extend to grade 10. Starting in grade 7, Mittlere-Reife-Klassen lead to a Mittleren Schulabschluss.
Mittelschule imparts basic general education. It emphasizes practical work. This creates good conditions for qualified vocational training. In 2009, the Bavarian State Parliament approved a concept. This concept aimed to create the Mittelschule in Bavaria. It builds on the strengths of the Hauptschule. These include the class teacher principle and career guidance.
Since the 2011/2012 school year, the 24 state Mittelschulen have joined together. They formed seven Mittelschulverbünde. A private Mittelschule is also part of this system. Each Mittelschulverbund has at least one school. This school offers a full-day program, either open or closed. Each also has at least one school with Mittlere-Reife-Klassen. The tasks of a Mittelschulverbund are coordinated by one of the school principals. This person is the Verbundkoordinator. Due to the evolution of Hauptschulen into Mittelschulen, Volksschulen no longer exist. Volksschulen were previously Grund- und Hauptschulen.
The students of Grund- und Mittelschule Feucht engage in various activities. For example, students in the 8th grade showcased their technical skills. They were tasked with building nesting boxes for the redesign of the skate park. They planned and built boxes for field sparrows and garden redstarts. The roofs were covered with roofing felt. The wood was treated with linseed oil. The school hopes the birds enjoy their new homes for a long time. The school group is happy to accept more orders for nesting boxes if you ask them.
In another project, Mittelschule students from Feucht excelled in the “Planspiel Börse”. This is a stock market simulation game. The 10th-grade classes participated for the first time. Students worked in groups with a starting capital of €50,000. They traded on the stock market for three months. One group performed exceptionally well. They achieved the best performance in the Nuremberg Savings Bank area. They won first place in the competition. They received certificates and a prize of €300. €200 was earmarked for class trips. The winners spent the rest privately.
Grund- und Mittelschule Feucht actively participates in community initiatives. During one Christmas, the school donated 26 regular and 2 digital packages. The packages were given to the Johanniter Weihnachtstrucker. The school provides games for rent. These are available for school festivals, kindergarten festivals, children’s birthdays, and club festivals.
Grund- und Mittelschule Feucht stands as a testament to the power of education. It fosters growth and community engagement. Its walls hold stories of learning, achievement, and collaboration. As we stand here, let us appreciate the vital role this school plays. It shapes the future of Feucht’s young people.
