Approximately 70% of the students come from non-German speaking backgrounds. Grund- und Stadtteilschule Maretstraße prides itself on its inclusive approach to education. A team of 90 regular teachers, special education teachers, educators, and social pedagogues collaborate in multi-professional teams to provide a supportive and enriching learning experience. The school’s structure is quite unique. Students in grades 1-3 and 4-6 are grouped together in classes. This mixed-age approach encourages peer learning and fosters a sense of community. Grund- und Stadtteilschule Maretstraße has a strong focus on arts and music. The school participates in the “Jedem Kind ein Instrument” (JeKi) project.
