Around the year 900 the bishop’s seat gained market rights. The very first Osnabrxfcck market blossomed here. This made the Groxdfe Domsfreiheit a key area for the city’s growth. Later the market moved outside the Domburg to a purpose-built marketplace. But today the weekly market returns to the Groxdfe Domsfreiheit. It’s a vibrant echo of its ancient past.
