Greater New Bethel Baptist Church

In 1975, a vibrant seed of faith was planted in Inglewood, California. That seed blossomed into the Greater New Bethel Baptist Church. We stand now before its current incarnation at 99th and Flower. Greater New Bethel Baptist Church’s journey began humbly, in living rooms, garages, and rented halls. Yet, its mission was grand: to be a beacon of hope, a place where Christ’s love could radiate through the community. The church has weathered storms and celebrated triumphs over 44 years. It stands as a testament to the unwavering faith of its congregation. Pastor Rikki T. Ferrell, Jr., a Los Angeles native, embodies the church’s deep roots in the community. Baptized at Greater New Bethel, he answered the call to ministry in 2009. His first sermon, “Stop Running and Trust God,” foreshadowed his return in 2015 as the church’s elected pastor. Pastor Ferrell’s leadership reflects the church’s commitment to serving the community. His motto, “Accept people for who they are, and love them for how they are,” resonates with the church’s inclusive spirit. He serves not only Greater New Bethel, but also holds positions within the Fellowship Baptist District Association, the California Missionary Baptist State Convention, and on a national level. Greater New Bethel Baptist Church is more than just a building. It is a living testament to the power of faith, a place where lives are transformed, and a cornerstone of the Inglewood community.
