This non-denominational church, nestled in the heart of Philadelphia, started its journey in 2004. It began in a rented room at the YWCA in Wilmington, Delaware, under the guidance of Elder George H. McCurdy, Jr.. Driven by a vision, Elder McCurdy, his wife Deaconess Dianne McCurdy, and their family, stepped out in faith. They left behind their comfort to answer a higher calling. Their journey led them to Philadelphia, where they first held services in a rented storefront on Germantown Avenue. Through unwavering faith and countless prayers, they finally found their home here on West Somerset Street in 2005. Though Elder McCurdy passed away in 2009, his legacy lived on. His daughter, Elder Tahnaya McCurdy-Peeples, stepped up to lead the congregation in 2011. Today, the Greater Love Temple-Faith Church thrives under Pastor McCurdy-Peeples’ leadership. It stands as a testament to the power of faith, perseverance, and love – proving that even in the heart of a bustling city, a small seed of faith can grow into a beacon of hope.
