In 1924, Grandview Presbyterian Church began as a mission project amidst Glendale’s vineyards. Grandview Presbyterian Church officially became a chartered church in 1925. The initial congregation consisted of 75 members. They held services in the Grandview Elementary School, later renamed Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. By 1928, the growing congregation moved across the street to their first dedicated worship space, a building now known as the Chapel. Grandview Presbyterian Church continued to expand. A new sanctuary, capable of holding 450 people, was constructed in 1957. The period between 1925 and 1967 was a time of significant growth for Grandview Presbyterian Church. New programs, buildings, and staff were added to serve the expanding congregation. Today, Grandview Presbyterian Church not only serves its own congregation. It also provides space for four other ethnically diverse congregations: Armenian, Korean, African, and Filipino. This reflects Grandview’s ongoing mission to provide Christian ministries for everyone.
