Pastor Dennis Isbell has served Grace Baptist Temple since 1992. Grace Baptist Temple isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to faith and community. Established in 1954, the church thrived at its original location on Basse Road for fifty years. In 2008, Grace Baptist Temple embarked on a new chapter, moving to its current expansive location on Wurzbach Road. This nearly eight-acre property, nestled between Wurzbach and Bluemel Road, is a beacon of hope near San Antonio’s bustling Medical Center. The move brought with it an impressive 550-seat auditorium, modern Sunday school facilities, a welcoming kitchen, and a multipurpose gymnasium that doubles as a fellowship hall. Grace Baptist Temple isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a hub of activity and connection. The church’s ministries extend beyond its walls, reaching out to the deaf community, nursing homes, and beyond with their dedicated van ministry. They even have a “prophets chamber”. At Grace Baptist Temple, the King James Bible is their cornerstone, guiding their traditional worship services, offered in both English and American Sign Language. They also hold a Wednesday evening service for mid-week spiritual nourishment. This independent Baptist church is deeply connected to its community, fostering a warm and friendly atmosphere for everyone who enters. Their motto, “Preaching the Cross, Through the Word, To the World”, speaks to their mission of spreading the Gospel.
