A beacon of faith stands tall. Grace Apostolic Church welcomes you. Its story begins not in New York City but in Washington DC in 1967. Elder Joseph Garlington founded this vibrant community. Initially services were held in a humble Odd Fellows Lodge.
In 1968 Grace Apostolic Church joined the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. Elder Clem Humphrey then became its pastor. A significant milestone arrived in 1986. Earnest L Pendleton was elected pastor. Under his leadership the church thrived.
The congregation moved into a new sanctuary in 2007. This impressive building could hold up to 650 people. It also boasted an Education Center with over 12 classrooms. Pastor Pendleton’s dedication was remarkable. He was inducted into the bishopric of the P A W in 2013. He led the Del Md DC District Council until his retirement in 2023.
Grace Apostolic Church is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a place of spiritual growth. It’s a community that supports its members. It’s a place of worship. Even during the challenges of the 2020 pandemic the church adapted. It ensured member safety. It offered virtual services via Zoom Facebook Live and Livestream. The church’s resilience reflects its deep faith and commitment to its community.
