It’s a vibrant part of Gokhale Memorial Girls’ School. The school, founded in 1920 by Sarala Ray, pulsates with the spirit of Gopal Krishna Gokhale, the institution’s namesake. Every year, around December or January, Gokhale Sporting transforms into a hub of activity for the annual sports day. Students eagerly participate in various sports. Badminton, in particular, draws a large and enthusiastic crowd. The day begins with a solemn oath-taking ceremony, followed by the symbolic lighting of a lamp and the unfurling of the college flag. This sets the stage for a day of friendly competition and spirited camaraderie. The air crackles with anticipation as students strive for the coveted Champion’s Trophy, awarded to the best performer by a distinguished chief guest.
