Korea’s first domed stadium rises before us, the Gocheok Sky Dome. It stands as a testament to Korea’s love for baseball and entertainment. Opened on September 15, 2015, it quickly became a landmark in Gocheok 1-dong.

This isn’t just a baseball stadium. It is a versatile venue for concerts and various events. The Gocheok Sky Dome can hold up to 22,258 spectators.

The Gocheok Sky Dome is home to the Kiwoom Heroes. They are a beloved KBO League baseball club. The stadium replaced Dongdaemun Baseball Stadium.

The dimensions of the field are 325 feet down the left and right field lines. It is 400 feet to straightaway center. The outfield fence is 12 feet tall.

Beyond baseball, the Gocheok Sky Dome has hosted world-class events. The 2017 World Baseball Classic saw thrilling matches here. Concerts by Britney Spears, BTS, Queen, and Billie Eilish have rocked this venue. The 2023 League of Legends World Championship final was also held here.

In 2020, the stadium was the sole venue for all KBO League postseason games after round one due to cold weather.

Getting here is easy. The subway will drop you off nearby at Guil Station Exit 2.

In March 2024, the Gocheok Sky Dome hosted the MLB Seoul Series. The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres played the first MLB regular season games ever held in South Korea. Dodgers like Chan Ho Park, Hee-Seop Choi, and Hyun-Jin Ryu once showcased their talents.

Some visitors have noted issues with the sound system. Others faced long queues for tickets. Despite these issues, the Gocheok Sky Dome remains a premier venue.
