Glenda Dawson High School was built to relieve the over-crowded Pearland High School. Initially, the current Pearland Ninth Grade Center served as a temporary campus. This allowed the school to start educating students before the permanent building was ready.

The Glenda Dawson High School’s mascot is the Eagles. The school colors are red white and blue. The motto is “Some Fly We Soar”.
