Originally, this park was named Glen Oaks Park. Then, in 1977, it was renamed Tenney Park. This honored Jerry Tenney. He was a former owner of Glen Oaks Village. He was also a major figure in the community.
In October 2021, Glen Oaks Oval unveiled a $1.5 million renovation. It was completed five months ahead of schedule. The upgrades included a state-of-the-art playground. Colored safety surfacing represents a pond. Tortoise statues add character.
