In 1968 a small group began meeting in a Hurricane building. This was the humble beginning of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. They dreamed of a growing church a place to honor God. Glad Tidings Assembly of God started small. The founders Reverend Roy L Mallory and Reverend Helen Funk and a few others prayed for a church that would serve the community.
Their prayers were answered. In 1970 they purchased land on Mill Road. The congregation worked together. They built the lower level of the church themselves. They moved into the church basement that same year. The second story was added in 1975.
In 1978 Glad Tidings Assembly of God officially affiliated with the Assemblies of God denomination. The church continued to grow under Pastor Mallory’s leadership. He served until 1980. Pastor Siegfried Krueger took over and continued the work. The church saw many souls saved and lives transformed.
