In 1954, a beacon of faith emerged in Da Nang. Giáo Xứ Nhượng Nghĩa, a Catholic parish, took root under the patronage of Saints Peter and Paul. The original structure, humble yet resilient, served the burgeoning community. Just two years later, in 1956, construction began on a new building, a testament to the growing congregation’s devotion. Giáo Xứ Nhượng Nghĩa wasn’t just a place of worship. It was a symbol of hope and resilience. By 1966, the church had been rebuilt, rising stronger from the ashes of conflict. In 1991, renovations further enhanced its beauty and functionality. Today, Giáo Xứ Nhượng Nghĩa stands as a testament to enduring faith, a place where the community gathers for solace and celebration. The parish, located in the Sơn Trà District of Da Nang, is part of the Hội An Deanery within the Archdiocese of Đà Nẵng. The bells of Giáo Xứ Nhượng Nghĩa ring out, a call to prayer and a reminder of the unwavering spirit of its people. Over the years, Giáo Xứ Nhượng Nghĩa has witnessed the appointment of new leadership and the growth of its ministries. In 2016, the parish welcomed the establishment of a committee for the Sacrament of Confirmation, demonstrating the church’s commitment to nurturing the faith of its younger members. Giáo Xứ Nhượng Nghĩa continues to serve as a spiritual anchor for the community. Its doors are open to all who seek comfort, guidance, and fellowship.
