GH One TV started its journey focusing on entertainment. It is now owned by Excellence In Broadcasting EIB Networks. Bola Ray is the CEO. Before EIB, Charter House Productions owned the station. Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong is the current General Manager of GH One TV. She took over from Nana Aba Anamoah. Nana Aba Anamoah was promoted to Group Head of Business Development for EIB Network.
GH One TV’s content is diverse. It includes lifestyle shows, music, fashion, and series. Children’s programs, comedy, and tourism also feature. This variety ensures there’s something for everyone. GeoPoll conducted a survey and found GH One is the 5th most-watched TV station in Ghana.
GH One TV is known for engaging talk shows. It also airs dramas and reality shows. Its news programming addresses social issues. Investigative reports are also a key part. GH One TV promotes local content. This resonates with a wide audience in Ghana.
Flagship shows on GH One TV include GHOne News Tonight. Gen Z Manifesto and Rhythmz Live also feature. These programs have become viewer favorites. GH One TV also broadcasts the news.
In the run-up to the December polls in Ghana, GH One’s TV program, State of Affairs, was the second most trusted source of information by respondents during the period. GH One has the seventh highest audience share with 6.5% among all TV channels in the country. Its penetration reach however, according to GeoPoll, a mobile survey platform (January – March 2017) is 72% nationwide, the seventh highest in the list of TV stations. The channel can be accessed in almost all the regions in Ghana except in the Brong Ahafo, Upper East and the Upper West regions.
EIB Network acquired GH One in November 2015. This acquisition ensured the station stayed true to competitive demands. The media group also owns Agoo TV. The new studio uses the latest technology from Axel Technology. It’s located in the Platinum Place office complex. This is near the Ridge Roundabout in Accra.
Getting to GH One TV Studios is easy. Several bus lines stop nearby. These include lines 230, 275, 306, 367, and 65. The closest bus stop is Rana Motors. It is only a one-minute walk away. Other nearby stops are Cold Store and Fata.
