Established in 1910 as the Day Continuation School George Campbell School of Technology boasts a rich history. Initially part of Glenwood High School it was linked to the Durban Technical College. It wasn’t until 1963 that the school moved to its current location in Brickhill Road Durban. Then it was named George Campbell Technical High School honouring Dr George Campbell a prominent Durbanite who championed technical education.

The school’s name changed again in 2003 becoming George Campbell School of Technology. It’s a co-educational public school known for its specialized technological education. Today approximately 1000 learners attend George Campbell School of Technology. The school offers a diverse range of technological subjects. These include Civil Technology encompassing woodworking plumbing and construction. Electrical Technology covers electrical power systems electronics and digital systems. The Mechanical Technology department teaches automotive studies welding and fitting and machining.

George Campbell School of Technology isn’t just about academics. It has a strong sporting tradition. The school’s teams compete in various sports. This includes badminton bodyboarding cricket football golf hockey netball rugby squash swimming surfing tennis and volleyball.
