Pastor Edward Beltran’s journey began in public housing. He understood the struggles of the community. He knew the people of Mirasol. Genesis Baptist Church wasn’t just a building. It was a beacon of hope. It was born from a desire to serve those in need. It’s located at 301 Hot Wells Boulevard San Antonio.

Genesis Baptist Church has a rich history. It successfully merged with the historic Hot Wells Baptist Church in 2008. This merger was miraculous. Many mergers fail. This one thrived. It combined the energy of a new church plant with the legacy of an established community institution. The church building itself is impressive. It boasts a sanctuary seating over 200 people. There’s also an education building. It has a library and a fellowship hall. The Hot Wells area was once fashionable. It hosted famous people such as Charlie Chaplin and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

The church actively engages in outreach programs. Genesis Baptist Church partnered with Cibolo’s Everyday Christian Fellowship. They held a block party at the Mirasol housing complex. They offered lunch games and gospel activities. Eight people professed faith in Christ that day. The church continues biweekly follow-ups with residents. Genesis Baptist Church also facilitates short-term missions. They partner with other churches in San Antonio and across the state. They offer Sunday worship services at 11 am and Wednesday Bible studies at 7 pm.
