Beneath the sprawling oaks of Charleston, nestled within the Porter-Gaud Lower School grounds, lies the Gaud School Playground. This isn’t just any playground. It’s a testament to the power of community and the importance of play. In 2023, Gaud School Playground underwent a remarkable transformation. Trident Construction spearheaded the project, breaking ground on a new era of fun and fitness for the Lower School students. The old playground, while cherished, had seen its share of Charleston sun and tides. This revitalized space was designed to be a fitness-centered hub, complete with a multi-use soccer area for students of all ages. The new playground boasts exciting features designed to keep the children entertained and engaged. It also incorporated resilient materials, resistant to the ever-present threat of tidal flooding and erosion that Charleston knows so well. The project wasn’t just about swings and slides. It was about creating a safer, more engaging, and fitness-rich play area. A place where students could develop their physical skills and create lasting memories.
