The school boasts around 700 students. These students range from Form 1 to Upper 6. Gateway High School operates as a day school. So, no boarding facilities are available. The foundation of Gateway High School is built upon solid Christian values.

Gateway High School follows the Cambridge International Examinations curriculum. It is one of 9000 schools worldwide to do so. This comprehensive pathway starts with Secondary 1. It progresses through Secondary 2. It culminates in the Advanced Level curriculum.

In the first two years, students study core subjects. These include English Language, Mathematics, and Science. These subjects conclude with the Cambridge Checkpoint exams. These exams provide feedback on strengths and weaknesses. Students also study French, Shona, Geography, and History. They also explore Design Technology, Art Design, and ICDL Computing. Music and Life Skills are included too.

During the third and fourth years, students prepare for the Cambridge IGCSE exams. IGCSE is recognized internationally. It provides the academic foundation for A Level studies. In the final two years, students tackle the Cambridge International AS and A Level curriculum.

Gateway High School has demonstrated strong performance in public exams. In 2019, the A-Level pass rate was an impressive 98.5%. The AS Level pass rate was 64%. The IGCSE pass rate was 65.1%. Gateway High School encourages diverse extracurricular activities. These enhance students’ skills and character.

Sports are emphasized. Students can participate in volleyball and athletics in the first term. Rugby and hockey are offered in the second term. Cricket and swimming take place in the third term. Many clubs are available. These include Arts Crafts, Drama, Chess, and Debate.

Several other clubs include First Aid, French, Chinese, and Shona. Photography, Car Maintenance, and Astronomy are also offered. Public Speaking, Quiz, Marimba, and Computer-Aided Design are also part of the program. Environmental Champions and Scripture Union are available as well.

Gateway High School admits students of any race or national origin. The school does not discriminate. To apply, prospective students need a Grade 6 third-term report. A passport-sized photo and a copy of the birth certificate are required. A non-refundable application fee is also necessary.

Gateway High School’s fees reflect its status as an elite school. The last known fees were US$2095 for Forms 1-4. Sixth Form fees were US$2160.
