Perhaps Gangbuk-gu’s name gives a hint. It means north of the Han River. We are now in Gangbuk District. It is one of Seoul’s 25 gu or districts. Gangbuk-gu became its own district in 1995. It was previously part of Dobong District. The current mayor is Park Gyeom-su.
